Booking & Logistics
Do I need to be home while you work?
No. Plenty of customers leave the keys and go to work. We just need access to the vehicle and a way to reach you if something comes up. If you would rather be there for the walk-around at the end, tell us and we will time it.
How long does a detail take?
A maintenance-level Express Shine runs roughly 1.5 to 2.5 hours. A full Signature Shine is typically 4 to 6. Correction and coating work is a full day at minimum and often two or three, because the coating has to cure.
What do you need from me on the day?
A parking space with about a metre of clearance around the car, and the keys. That is genuinely it — we carry our own water, power and lighting.
Can you work in an apartment or condo garage?
Usually, yes. Our equipment is quiet, contained and does not flood the floor. Clear it with building management first so nobody stops us halfway through.
Do you take cards?
Yes — card, tap, and the usual digital payment apps, as well as cash. For multi-day correction and coating bookings we take a deposit to hold the slot.
How far in advance should I book?
A few days for a standard detail. Weekends and multi-day coating work book out further, particularly in spring and early summer.
Pricing
Why is there no price list on the site?
Because a flat rate is either unfair to you or unsustainable for us. A garage-kept weekend car and a street-parked daily with three winters on it need very different work. Send photos and you get an accurate number instead of a range.
How do I get a quote?
Text a few photos of the vehicle — a wide shot, a close-up of the paint, and the interior — plus your zip code, to (934) 212-0560. Most quotes go back the same day.
Is there a travel fee?
Not in our core Long Island and five-borough coverage. Further out, or across a state line, there may be — and we quote it up front rather than adding it at the end.
Do you discount multiple vehicles?
Yes. Two or more cars at the same address on the same day is always cheaper per vehicle, because the setup and pack-down only happens once.
Paint, Correction & Coatings
What is the difference between a polish and a paint correction?
A polish improves gloss. A correction removes defects — swirls, wash marks, holograms and light scratches — by levelling a tiny amount of clear coat. Correction is permanent; a glaze that fills defects washes out in a few weeks.
Will polishing damage my paint?
Not when it is done correctly. Clear coat is finite, which is why we measure thickness before starting, do a test panel, and use the least aggressive combination that gets the result. We will tell you if a car has already been polished too many times.
Is a ceramic coating worth it?
If you keep the car more than a couple of years and want washing to be easier, yes. It is not a magic force field — it will not stop rock chips or door dings. What it does is make contamination struggle to bond, keep gloss stable against UV, and cut washing time dramatically.
Can you coat a car without correcting it first?
We will not. A coating is transparent and semi-permanent — it locks in whatever is underneath, including every swirl mark, for years. Anyone willing to skip that step is selling you a problem.
Will a coating remove scratches?
No. Correction removes scratches; the coating protects the corrected finish. They are two separate stages, and the Showroom Shine package includes both.
Can you work over paint protection film or vinyl wrap?
Yes. PPF and vinyl need different chemistry and much gentler machine work, and we adjust for it. Tell us up front what is on the car so we plan correctly.
My car has deep scratches. Can you fix them?
If you can catch a fingernail in it, it has gone through the clear coat and polishing will not remove it — it needs paint. We will improve how it looks and be straight with you about what is left, and we can refer you to a body shop we trust.
Interiors
Can you get pet hair out?
Yes, and it is one of the most satisfying parts of the job. Heavy pet hair takes real time, so it is quoted as an add-on — send a photo of the worst area and we will price it honestly.
Can you remove smoke smell?
Usually. It takes a full extraction, steam treatment of every soft surface, an odour neutraliser and almost always a new cabin air filter. Long-term heavy smoking may need more than one visit, and we will say so before you book.
Will extraction ruin my carpets or leave them wet?
No. Hot-water extraction injects and immediately recovers the water, so carpets come out damp rather than soaked, and we use forced air to speed drying. In humid weather leave the windows cracked for a couple of hours.
Do you clean leather with anything harsh?
Never. pH-balanced leather cleaner, soft brush agitation, then a breathable conditioner. No greasy silicone dressings that leave seats slippery and shiny.
Weather & Aftercare
What happens if it rains on my appointment?
For exterior work we will call you the day before and move it, free of charge. Interior work and covered garage bookings usually go ahead as planned.
Do you detail in winter?
Year-round. Below freezing we shift toward interiors and garage work — coatings in particular need controlled temperature to cure properly, so those get scheduled indoors.
How soon can I wash the car after a coating?
Generally about a week, and then only with pH-neutral shampoo and clean media. You will get a written aftercare sheet with the specifics for the coating we installed.
Can I take a coated car through an automatic car wash?
Please do not. Brush washes will put swirl marks straight back into the paint and shorten the life of the coating considerably. Touchless is acceptable occasionally; a proper hand wash is much better.
How do I keep the finish looking like this?
Wash every two weeks with the two-bucket method, dry with clean microfibre or forced air, and deal with bird droppings and tree sap quickly — they etch. If you would rather not, we run maintenance visits at a reduced rate for cars we have detailed.
Ask us anything about your specific car.
Every vehicle is different. Describe yours — the paint, the interior, how it is stored, what is bothering you — and we will tell you what it actually needs.
Ready to see your car the way it left the factory?
Text a couple of photos and your zip code — you'll get an honest quote back, usually the same day. We come to your home, your office, or wherever the car is parked.
